AHS Building Committee, Communications Subcommittee Met 1/25/18 at 4:30pm Present in person: Kathleen Bodie, Amy Speare (Chair), Kirsi Allison-Ampe, Julie Dunn; via phone: Joan Roman, Lori Cowles (HMFH), Victoria Clifford (Skanska), David Stephen (New Vista Design) Meeting Minutes Review 1/16/18 minutes approved, motion by KAA, second by JD February 7th Public Forum Planning  Scheduled at Town Hall from 7-9pm, expect 60-120 attendees  Proposed format: o Jeff to MC o David Stephen give a 15 minute overview on themes in 21st century teaching and learning. Keep to programmatic level. o Matt Janger give 15-20 minute overview of current programming at AHS – highlights in key departments, new initiatives/trends, interdisciplinary learning, online learning o Show 5-10 minute video highlighting 21st century skills o Breakout groups 20 minutes  Given handout (same given to Ed Visioning Cmte)  Discuss as group: what 21st century skills are most relevant; what are priority learning goals; what subjects/courses would like to see at AHS; what are ways you’d like to see the school evolve over the next 10-20 years  Note: specific questions to guide discussion will be ironed out at a later date o Breakout Group reporting 20 min o Q&A 15 min. Jeff will lead, Kathy, Lori, Matt, David available to answer questions  Format similar to previous forum: building committee facilitators, sign-in/bulletin sign-up at tables, note cards to capture questions  Goal is to send out APS & Town Notice about forum on Monday 1/29 New Business  March 5 forum o Different format, held at AHS o Give tours of AHS, all end in Old Hall or Auditorium for presentation and breakouts o David Stephen will share Ed Visioning Committee’s work from 2/8 visioning session about design patterns. Attendees meet in groups to give feedback on design patterns, offer new ideas.  April 4 forum o Held at Town Hall o Lori anticipates we’ll have some high level concepts to share with community and can use forum to gather feedback o Would be reviewed by AHSBC prior to forum  ACMI virtual tour o Amy spoke with Jeff Munroe at ACMI and he offered use of their new 360 camera. April 1 deadline works for them, we need to offer a few people to get trained. o Amy to follow up with Jeff to determine whether can add narration to 360 experience Meeting adjourned at 5:40pm
