This document discusses applying the PyTOPKAPI hydrological model to ungauged catchments in South Africa and Ethiopia to simulate streamflow. It introduces using the Schreiber runoff ratio formula as an alternative calibration method when streamflow data is unavailable. The PyTOPKAPI model was set up using digital elevation data and spatial datasets for the Mhlanga catchment in South Africa and the Gilgel Ghibe catchment in Ethiopia. The model was calibrated by comparing simulated runoff ratios to those predicted by the Schreiber formula. Simulated daily streamflows matched realistically over both catchments, showing potential for the approach to predict flows in other ungauged areas.
