In our understanding, as Leite (2018) and Szoke(2020) have already pointed out, it is more useful for historical knowledge aboutDomitian and his government to discuss the fabrication of speeches on certain platformsand not the rehabilitation or degeneration of that emperor, by means of thedocumentation that has been left to us throughout the centuries.<br></p>''Este artigo visa considerar as formas como o imperador Tito Flávio Domiciano (81-96) foi tratado pelos historiadores entre o final do século 19 e o início do século 21 e classificar essas perspectivas em três categorias: a perspectiva tradicionalista (1894-&nbsp; 1961), a perspectiva revisionista (1963-1997) e as novas abordagens (2011 – atual).&nbsp; Em nosso entendimento, como já apontaram Leite (2018) e Szoke (2020), é mais útil ao conhecimento histórico sobre Domiciano e seu governo discutir a fabricação de discursos em determinadas plataformas e não a reabilitação ou degeneração daquele imperador, por meio de&nbsp; da documentação que nos foi deixada ao longo dos séculos.
