The CERGE-EI Foundation provides fellowships for economists who have earned PhDs or Masters degrees from universities in Western countries to teach in universities located in Central and Eastern Europe. The fellowships aim to improve economics education in the region by attracting talented graduates. Fellows receive $7,200 per year for three years to supplement their academic salaries and have access to resources from CERGE-EI in Prague. To qualify, applicants must have a job offer to teach at least three economics courses per year at a nonprofit university in Central or Eastern Europe. Selection preferences go to those with PhDs, from higher-ranked universities, teaching larger courses.
