This document summarizes a research paper that critically examines the contribution of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to entrepreneurship development and employment generation in the eight states of North East India between 2006-2007 and 2012-2013. The study uses panel data regression models to analyze MSME sector output, employment, and fixed investment across the states. The main findings are that MSMEs have significantly contributed to entrepreneurship development among youth in the region, though some states saw more success due to specific policies. However, the sector has failed to fully absorb unskilled labor migrating from agriculture and other sectors across the eight states.
