David Sissom (Elon College, North Carolina, U.S.A.), publishedinBZN48:56,supportedtheconservationofthenamevittatusSay, 1821.Dr Sissomalsoproposedtheconservationo^vittatusGuQxmMeneville,[1838];thenameis ajuniorprimaryhomonymofvittatusSay, 1821butthespecieshasbeenincludedinthe genus Bothriurus Peters, 1861 since 1876 and its name has never been replaced. The nameiscurrentlyinuseforaspeciesofscorpionfromChile. TheCommissionwasaskedtovoteseparatelyontherevisedapplicationtoconserve the name vittatus Say, 1821 by designating a neotype, thereby also conservinghentzi Banks, 1904(proposalspublishedin BZN48: 55), and ontheapplicationtoconserve ButhusvittatusGuerinMeneville,[1838](proposalspubUshedinBZN48: 56).
