This document is a dissertation submitted by Wabuyi Jimmy Franklin for the degree of Master of Science in Accounting and Finance at Makerere University. The dissertation examines the application of environmental management accounting on the financial performance of cement companies in Uganda, using Tororo Cement Industry and Mountain Enterprise Tororo as case studies. 

The introduction provides background on environmental issues in business and the need for environmental management accounting. It establishes the problem statement, objectives, research questions and significance of the study. A conceptual framework is presented showing how environmental management accounting application relates to perceived financial performance through production of environmental information, environmental evaluation, compliance with laws, and tracking of environmental costs.
