This document summarizes a study that examined the relationship between human resource planning, training and development, and organizational performance in the government sector in Jordan. The study reviewed literature showing that HR planning and training/development are positively related to organizational performance measures like productivity, goal achievement, and workforce quality. The study surveyed employees in HR departments of 23 Jordanian ministries. Results indicated HR planning and training/development were significantly correlated with organizational performance. The study provided recommendations for improving HR practices in the Jordanian government.
